I was invested in the mystery the entire time, and despite the light-hearted tone and out-there premise, it never felt toothless. The dialogue is well-written, and all of the twists and character decisions felt earned. Most importantly for a game with such a big focus on story - Ghost Trick's writing is excellent, and I don't say that lightly. The soundtrack is also great, and suits the game perfectly. Apparently they made 3D models for all of the characters before converting them to sprites, allowing for some really slick animations that still feel cohesive with the 2D backgrounds.
